OLDS – École Olds High School badminton coach Mary Marshall won a silver and a bronze medal during the 2025 Canadian Masters championships, held May 30-June 3 in Markham, Ont.

Marshall took the silver in women’s 40-plus singles. She and Lucy Chher won the bronze in women’s +40 doubles.

None of that was easy though.

“It was three-game battles and a long fight, both in singles and doubles to secure (the) medals,” Marshall wrote in a text.

“Competition was very tough, seeing players from Malaysia, England and China.

“One of the singles players trained with Lee Chong Wei, a famous professional badminton player.”
