The Mountain View County municipal planning commission has approved a development permit application for a tree-clearing project within an environmentally significant area in the Water Valley-Winchell Lake district.

As part of Mountain View County's existing active gravel pits project, councillors have approved a number of amendments to operating regulations. The move came during the recent regularly scheduled council meeting.

CARSTAIRS - A special fundraising event was held on June 22 at the Silver Willow Sporting Club near Carstairs. Clays for Cottage was a clay shooting event, which raised money for the Children's Cottage Society.

The Mountain View County agricultural service board (ASB) members have visited sites of the planned July 2017 provincial ASB summer tour, scheduled to take place across the county as well as in Red Deer County.

Mountain View County (MVC) council has approved a number of changes regarding the conduct of public hearings, including rules for written submissions prior to hearing dates. The move came during the recent regularly scheduled council meeting.

CREMONA - Council passed second and final reading of the Direct Control Bylaw 468-16 to amend the Land Use Bylaw. The bylaw addresses the rezoning of Highway Commercial (C2) and Industrial (I) along Railway Avenue to Direct Control (DC).
