CREMONA - At its regular council meeting on March 20, Cremona Village council approved the 2018 citizen satisfaction survey.
"The survey will hopefully be live on our website the beginning of April until the end of April," said CAO Luana Smith. "We're also putting it in the mailboxes and people can also pick them up at the village office."
The survey asks residents to answer several questions such as: where do you get information on village services and information, how satisfied are you with quality of service provided for each department, and what are your general impressions with your dealings with the village.
In other council news, council passed the public notification bylaw.
"It's one of the new requirements under the new MGA (municipal government act) about how bylaws are to be advertised, etc.," said Smith.
The section of the MGA states that a council must give notice of certain bylaws, resolutions, meetings, public hearings or other things by advertising in a newspaper or other publication circulating in the area, mailing or delivering a notice to every residence in the affected area or by another method provided for in a bylaw.
Council approved changes to the on-call pay and procedure policy.
"The changes will be effective March 21 for staff," said Smith. "That would be for our public works staff; they're the only ones on call."
Council approved a public budget meeting for April 10 at 6 p.m. in the village office. The tax rate bylaw is expected to be presented in April or early May.
On April 8 council is holding a strategic planning session to set priorities for this current term.
