PENHOLD – The town took time to appreciate women and hosted a Women’s Day Out as part of International Women’s Day on March 8. The annual event took place at Memorial Hall in Penhold on April 28. It was rescheduled from its original date in March.

INNISFAIL – Students at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Catholic School were strutting their stuff during their annual talent show. The springtime event took place at the school on April 27. “Students in grades 5 to 9 are invited to be in the talent show.

INNISFAIL – Your presence is requested at the Royal Wedding Tea, hosted by the Innisfail and District Historical Village on May 19. The special event takes place in the Tea Room from 2 to 4 p.m.

INNISFAIL - The town's aging handivan is back in service after a four-day grounding, but its operational days may still be short-lived as it's expected council will soon be presented with a recommendation to buy an urgently needed new vehicle.

INNISFAIL – RCMP continue their community outreach with the annual D.A.R.E. program. Innisfail RCMP Const. Craig Nelson, school and community resource officer, recently completed the D.A.R.E.

INNISFAIL - The past few years have been a tough haul for the Innisfail RCMP's battle against rural and property crime, but Staff Sgt. Chris Matechuk said there have been hopeful signs this year the tide will soon decisively turn in their favour.

INNISFAIL - RCMP will be presenting a crime prevention seminar on May 16 with the focus on the successful Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) program. The May 16 seminar at the Innisfail Library/Learning Centre begins at 6 p.m.

INNISFAIL - Seven months on the beat and peace officer Brandi Gray has quickly put the spotlight on the compassionate and heroic side of law enforcement. In doing so the 22-year-old is being praised as a life-saving hero.
