LACOMBE – It was not the battle victory they had hoped for. The Innisfail Eagles squared off against the Rosetown Red Wings in Game 1 of the 2019 Allan Cup tournament in Lacombe on Monday afternoon (April 8).

Hundreds of visitors came out this weekend for the annual Innisfail Trade Show and A Taste of Innisfail, April 5 and 6.

Four members of the club had excellent results at the recent 4-H public speaking second level zones competition held on March 9 at the Pine Lake Hub Hall.

Dr. Isaac Day and his dance partner Jinelle Themig, both of Innisfail, rehearse a dance number at Joy's School of Dance. The duo are practising for their upcoming performance in the 2019 Sheraton Celebrity Dance Off in Red Deer on April 13.

INNISFAIL – Members of Our Lady of Peace Parish are rallying to raise needed funds for a new church roof. One of several fundraisers planned for this year was held on March 17.

INNISFAIL – Volunteers play a vital role in any community. The towns of Innisfail and Penhold are celebrating their volunteers during National Volunteer Week, from April 7 to 13. Penhold is hosting an event at the Memorial Hall on April 11.

INNISFAIL – There is a big staff change coming this spring to the Innisfail Public Library. After six years manager Sara Kepper is leaving. “I loved my job. It was a really, really hard decision to leave,” said Kepper, citing personal reasons.

INNISFAIL – The Boob Tour is returning to Innisfail. The tour makes a stop at the Royal Canadian Legion on April 3. It is the sixth year for the event in Innisfail.

BOWDEN -- Developers Lucas and Lindsay Brann, who are considering developing tiny homes in the community are looking at having land for the project surveyed, with a goal of moving ahead on it by May 1.
