A 26-year-old man accused in a series of cross-jurisdictional Tim Hortons break-ins, including in Didsbury, pleaded guilty to multiple charges in Airdrie's Alberta Court of Justice on Thursday.
Joshua Elliot Moose made an in-person appearance in the courtroom on July 24 where a guilty plea was entered on his behalf through his counsel.
Last year, a total of 31 charges were laid against him in Alberta for break and enter in order to commit theft, possession of break-in tools such as a crow bar, and unsafe storage of a firearm.
Moose is a resident of Medicine Hat and was also charged with seven offences in Saskatchewan for break and enter for theft at restaurants in Maple Creek, Kindersley, Swift Current, Saskatoon and Indian Head and possession of break-in tools.
A five-month investigation took place before Moose's arrest. More than a dozen Tim Hortons break-ins occurred between June 2024 and October 2024, including locations in Rocky View County, Didsbury, High River, Rocky Mountain House, Drayton Valley, Hanna, Vermilion, Strathmore, Stettler and two in Wetaskiwin.
Before Moose's Oct. 31, 2024 arrest and subsequent charges, he had no previous criminal record.
He next appears in court on Sept. 19 for sentencing at the Alberta Court of Justice in Airdrie.
