Didsbury softball player off to college world series

McCook Indians won Region IX tournament on May 4 and is now headed to the world series in Yuma, Arizona May 19 - 24.

DIDSBURY - Payton Kinsley continues to make her mark in the world of softball – including heading to the college world series later this month.

A Didsbury resident, Kinsley started playing softball when she was three years old. She currently plays with the McCook Community College team in McCook, Nebraska, where she has been since August 2024.

Her team recently made it to the NJCAA Juco D1 College World Series.

During the qualifying series, she was named Region IX catcher of the year and also made the Region IX all star team.

She is currently 7th in the nation with 20 homers. 

Her team, the McCook Indians, won the Region IX tournament on May 4 and is now headed to the world series in Yuma, Arizona May 19 - 24.

In 2023, Kinsley made it to the Little League World Series in Delaware as a member of Team Canada. She has played with the Southern Alberta Revolution Team based in Crossfield.
