DIDSBURY - Didsbury Fire Department members responded to 64 calls in the last quarter, including for 19 motor vehicle collisions.
The department’s report was presented at the Sept. 12 council meeting, covering the quarter of April 1 to June 30.
Of the 64 calls, 21 were in town and 35 were in the surrounding rural area, while six were for mutual aid outside town and two for mutual aid in town.
There were 11 alarm calls, seven EMS assist calls, 10 wildfire calls, two vehicle fire calls and three structure fire calls.
The Town of Didsbury municipal enforcement report for the same quarter was also presented to council.
Officers responded to149 reports/occurrences, with 111 concluded, 24 still under investigation, three forwarded to other agencies, two forwarded to other departments, three having no occurrence status, and six unfounded.
Incidents under the Traffic Safety Act were the most numerous type of occurrence, followed by the Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw, the Community Standards Bylaw and the Didsbury Traffic Bylaw.
Deputy mayor Curt Engel said, “I found them (statistics on fire responses) very informative. I thought the information was laid out nicely and gave us very good information.”
Council accepted the report as information.
