DIDSBURY – The Didsbury AquaJets Swim Club is off to another great season, with 252 swimmers from seven teams from Region E attending the club’s recent meet at the Didsbury Memorial Complex swimming pool.

“It was a great swim meet,” new head coach Cecilia Wessels told the Albertan.

The club is made up of girl and boy swimmers age five to 16. There are 27 swimmers in the club this season, which runs from May to August.

The recent Didsbury meet saw swimmers from across the region in attendance, including from Cochrane, Okotoks, High River and Calgary.

Club members are hoping to make it to provincials again this year, after six members made it in 2024. This year’s provincials are in Edmonton.

“Our goal is to attend provincials again,” she said. “We hope to have at least as many swimmers attending this year.”

Swimmers qualify for provincials during the regionals, which are held shortly before provincials.

Coach Wessels became the head coach of the Didsbury AquaJets this season after being a coach last year.
