MANNVILLE, Alta. — An air quality alert issued for an area east of Edmonton due to a fire at an oil lease site has been cancelled. Officials say the alert was cancelled after the fire was brought under control by emergency crews.

"Crude oil is burning, and toxic smoke is being produced. The smoke is dangerous if inhaled."

“Further interviews have since determined the cause of the incident was unwitnessed therefore the cause cannot be confirmed. Visibility in the couloir was poor that day.”
