Sundre Golf Club hosts Alberta Golf UpSwing ladies’ event

Several dozen golfers from across Alberta came out to play in one-day event intended to offer recreational players chance to explore variety of venues

SUNDRE – Several dozen women came to play at the Sundre Golf Club on July 18 to check out the local course that was hosting an Alberta Golf initiative called UpSwing.

The program is the recreational brand of Alberta Golf designed with the intention of building support for the sport and to accommodate recreational players who are interested in diversifying their playing options by putting a spotlight on different venues.

There were approximately 85 ladies who came out to play from around the province not for titles and trophies but just for fun.

The event came immediately on the heels of a three-day tournament that also brought out 120 competitors from across the province for the July 15-17 2025 Alberta Golf Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship.

“It’s been a busy week!” said Scott Shouldice, the course’s head golf pro.
