SUNDRE – Some local youths weren't about to pass up the opportunity to hop on their scooters last week when the sun made a comeback following some recent rains.

Sundre-area moms and friends Lindsay Fancie and Chelsey Tucker were among those capitalizing on the warm weather's return this past Tuesday, July 29 when they brought out their kids for a summertime scooter session at the local skatepark.

The public amenity, located immediately adjacent to the west of the Sundre and District Aquaplex parking lot and across the street from the Sundre rodeo grounds on Second Avenue NW, is a popular draw for skateboarders, BMX bikers, roller bladers as well as scooters and is available at no cost.

The municipality's permanent concrete outdoor rink is also located next to the skatepark and features basketball nets that offer yet another recreational option for anyone looking for an opportunity to get outdoors and be active during the summertime.
