Two teens charged with second-degree murder in east-end Toronto mall shooting

Toronto police say two teenagers have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a 19-year-old died in a shooting at an east-end mall last week. Police say they were called to Scarborough Town Centre just before 2 p.m. on Aug.

Toronto police say two teenagers have been arrested and charged with second-degree murder after a 19-year-old died in a shooting at an east-end mall last week.

Police say they were called to Scarborough Town Centre just before 2 p.m. on Aug. 21 for a report of a shooting.

They say officers found an injured man in the mall's washrooms and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police have identified the victim as 19-year-old Daniel Amalathas from Toronto.

Investigators say two 17-year-old boys were arrested on Thursday and charged with second-degree murder.

The accused are scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
