KINGSTON — Police in Kingston, Ont., say a pedestrian has died after being hit by a vehicle that crossed over a road median and onto the sidewalk.

Investigators say they responded to a report of a crash at Bath Road between Portsmouth Avenue and Sir John A. Macdonald Boulevard on Wednesday around 5:30 p.m.

They say the pedestrian was seriously injured and later died in hospital.

Police say the driver was arrested on allegations of impaired operation of a motor vehicle.

Investigators say they are looking to speak with the owner of a Tesla that may have dashcam footage related to the crash.

They say the Tesla was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Bath Road and Gardiners Road at approximately 5:25 p.m.
