OLDS — The Central Alberta First partnership has released the final Business Retention, Expansion and Workforce Development (BREWD) Regional Strategy and BREWD community data summary reports.

The reports provide a detailed look at the business environment of Olds, Mountain View County and as well as Red Deer, Red Deer County, Penhold and Kneehill County.

Included in the report are responses from business people to surveys asking for their assessment of what works and what doesn’t work for them in the various communities.

“Over 700 businesses across Central Alberta, representing all sectors of the economy, contributed their insights to shape the BREWD Regional Strategy, an actionable, industry-driven plan to strengthen economic resilience, drive innovation, and enable sustainable growth,” a news release issued Aug. 25 said.

The reports can be accessed at https://centralalbertafirst.ca/brewd-reports.

Central Alberta First also announced the launch of the first project recommended from the BREWD strategy to boost business in the region: an AI for Business: Tools, Tactics, Transformation Conference, which will be held Wednesday, Oct. 22 in the Olds College Alumni Centre.

“This one-day event will bring together industry leaders, innovators, and technology experts to explore practical applications of artificial intelligence that can improve processes, reduce costs, and increase competitiveness for businesses of all sizes,” the news release said.
