Canada Day 2025 will be a busy time across the district, with lots of family-friendly activities in every community.
In Carstairs, the ever-popular bicycle parade, along with other games, entertainment and other activities, takes place in the Carstairs Memorial Park.
Canada Day Fireworks will be held at dusk on July 1 at the Carstairs Golf Course. Residents and visitors can watch in town or park at the golf course or across Highway 2A in the open field.
In Olds, a Canada Day kick-off fireworks takes place at Rotary Athletic Park at dusk on June 30. July 1 activities include the parade in Uptowne Olds, and lots of activities in the Centennial Park, including O Canada by the Evergreen Singers.
In Didsbury, there will be lots of family activities at the Moose Park and at the Didsbury Museum. There will be fireworks after dark at the Memorial Park.
In Sundre lots of things are planned at the Pioneer Village Museum, including a flag raising, pancake breakfast, a barbecue sponsored by town council, cake cutting, and musical entertainment.
Other activities include a fire department bucket brigade race. Greenwood Neighbourhood Place will be hosting family activities and entertainment at the school playground, and there will be fireworks at dusk at the rodeo grounds.
In Innisfail, on June 30 at the Napoleon Sports Field there there will live performances, food trucks and other activities, followed by fireworks at dusk.
On Canada Day there will lots going on at the Innisfail Historical Village, including a pancake breakfast, face-painting, flag raising, and entertainment.
In Cremona there is also lots to do and see, much of it centred around the community hall and grounds. There is also the ever-popular parade, ball tournament, and other activities including a bouncy tent, face-painting, bike rodeo, fireworks and more.
All activities and events are, of course, subject to change, depending on weather and other factors.
