OLDS — The Mountain View Museum & Archives and Uptowne Olds are partnering again this year in the second annual Bike For History Scavenger Hunt fundraiser.
This year’s event will be held Saturday, Aug. 23 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Although the event is billed as the Bike for History, participants can walk or blade if they wish instead.
Participants drop in the Mountain View Museum & Archives (MVMA) at 11 a.m. to pick up clues about Uptowne businesses. They have until 3 p.m. to cycle throughout the area and find all eight businesses to receive great prizes.
All funds raised go to the Olds Historical Society for programming.
MVMA manager and programmer Chantal Marchildon says the eight businesses profiled this year are different from last year’s group.
She said last year’s event was a lot of fun for MVMA staff and visitors.
“And the Uptowne people really enjoyed it too because it brings in different people who haven’t been in and go ‘oh, I haven’t been in here before, I’ll be back.’
“It’s nice for them, nice for us.”
