April 27, 1944 – September 17, 2023

Lucy was born on April 27, 1944 in Trochu Alberta. She was the youngest of nine children born to William and Yvonne Jubinville.  She grew up on a farm near Lousana where she attended Primary school before attending High School in Delburne. After high school, Lucy went on to nursing school in Edmonton where she completed her LPN training.

Lucy spent 40+ years caring for others in Edmonton, Red Deer, Mayerthorpe, and Wetaskiwin, before spending the last 28 years of her career serving the Didsbury area at the Didsbury General Hospital.

It was while living in Lousana, that Lucy met the love of her life, Larry Paulson whom she went on to marry in 1964. After successfully launching their four children, Lucy and Larry retired and enjoyed 12 years living as Snowbirds in Apache Junction, Arizona before returning to Didsbury for the remainder of their retirement.

Lucy’s life was centred around her family, friends, and most importantly, her faith. She was an active member of St. Anthony’s in Didsbury and St. Stephen’s Church in Olds.

Lucy died on Sunday, September 17, 2023 of metastatic colon cancer, at home, surrounded by her family. She will be lovingly remembered by her soulmate and husband of 59 1/2 years, Larry Paulson; son, Todd (Denenne) Paulson of Didsbury, and daughters, Shelly (Paul) Majore of Three Hills, Alison (James) Reichenbacher of Olds and Kerrie Ann (Sean) Patrick of Ridgecrest California. She will also be missed by her grandchildren, Taylor Schultz; Michala, Evan and Landon Majore; Jordan, Joshua, Olivia and Ty Reichenbacher; and Sloan Patrick.  She is sorely missed by her beloved dog Cooper. She was pre-deceased by her parents, William and Yvonne Jubinville, her brothers, Gerard, Barney, Maurice, Raymond, Hermus, Roland, George and her sister, Doris.

Thank you to Dr. Le Roux and Tiffany, from Oasis Medical Clinic in Airdrie, Dr. Tang from Foothills Oncology, Barb, Jaymie and the HCA’s of the Didsbury Home Care Team for the exceptional care provided to Lucy. A special thanks to the many friends, family and community members who supported Lucy’s family during her hospice care with food, caring and expressions of sympathy.

Lucy’s Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, September 26th at 1:00pm at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Olds, Alberta.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Olds Hospice Society or the Mustard Seed.
