Police say a doctor who previously practised at a hospital in Upper Nappan, N.S., is facing a sexual assault charge after an alleged incident at an emergency room in January.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they received a report in May of an alleged sexual assault involving a doctor during an assessment at Cumberland Regional Health Care Centre, located near Amherst, N.S.
Police say they arrested the doctor last week and believe there are additional victims in Nova Scotia.
They say there may also be victims in Quebec and New Brunswick where the doctor also practised.
The RCMP encouraged other victims to come forward and ask them to contact their local police.
The doctor was released on conditions after his arrest, with his first court appearance scheduled for Nov. 15.
