DIDSBURY — Teena Trick-Wilks of Didsbury won two gold and two silver medals during the Alberta 55 Plus Games, held Aug. 21-24 in Leduc.

Trick-Wilks, head coach of the Special Olympics Olds & District swim team, won gold in the 100 metre (m) backstroke and 100m breast stroke.

She won silver in the 50m breast stroke and 100m freestyle.

Trick-Wilks and her son Wesley, head coach of the Olds Rapids Swim Club, were asked by a referee to help organize and manage the 55 plus swim meet.

Local masters swimmer Graeme Gordon also helped out. Earlier this year, Gordon and three teammates set an Edmonton Masters Swim Club record in the Men’s 4×100 medley in the 200-239 category.

Wesley had just returned to Alberta after winning a bronze medal in the 50m men's Special Olympics breaststroke during the Canada Summer Games, held 8- 25 in Newfoundland.
