Central Alberta RCMP trying to find Hank the stolen horse to return to owner

Warrant issued for theft suspect who police say has refused to return the equine or divulge where it is, adding she may be selling it

Police in central Alberta are looking for a stolen horse along with the person charged with its theft.

Rimbey RCMP initiated an investigation on June 21 into the theft of a horse.

In a release issued Thursday, police said a warrant has been issued for the arrest of Ponoka County resident Katrina Doiron, 28, after she was charged with theft of cattle over $5,000.

“Doiron is refusing to return the horse, whose name is Hank, and will not tell police where Hank is,” police said in the Aug.14 release. “She has also stated she is in the process of selling Hank. Rimbey RCMP is seeking assistance in locating him so he can be returned to his rightful owner.”

Police also had a warning for anyone harbouring the equine adding “if you are in possession of Hank, you are committing the offence of possessing stolen property over $5,000.”

Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Doiron and/or Hank the horse, please contact Rimbey RCMP at or your local police.
