Innisfail’s Boob Tour team donates record-setting cheque to Alberta Cancer Foundation

Organizing committee praises this year’s comedy performers

INNISFAIL – It was another record-setting year for the town’s Boob Tour organizing committee.

The 12th annual event on April 16 at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion Branch #104 attracted 250 citizens who each paid $30 a ticket, monies to support ongoing research for the Alberta Cancer Foundation.

Ticket sales were also supported by live and silent auctions and a 50/50 draw.

By the night’s end, a total of $18,000 was raised, which beat the previous record of $17,400 that was set in 2024.

“It's great the community support we're getting,” said Boob Tour co-chair Danny Rieberger. “It seems to grow every year, so we're extremely grateful for that, and it's going to such a good cause.”

As for this year’s comedy show from veteran award-winning comic Lori Ferguson-Ford and newcomer Jarvis Zawatsky, Rieberger said it may have been the best the event had ever had.

“The young comic (Zawatsky) was great, and our headliner (Ferguson-For) is experienced and was very good,” said Rieberger. “Quite a few people thought they were the best we'd ever had.”

Now that the event is over and the proceeds turned over to the foundation, planning is already starting for next year.

“We just need to start. We have to pick our date and get that book before somebody else books it on us,” said Rieberger. “We’ve got to be a year ahead of ourselves as to getting the date set.
