Calgary man killed Saturday in collision near Carstairs

CARSTAIRS –  RCMP is investigating a single vehicle collision near Carstairs Saturday that killed a Calgary man.

Didsbury and Airdrie RCMP responded to a signal vehicle collision at Highway 2 and Highway 581 at 6 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, police said in a news release issued Sunday.

“Fire and EMS attended, and upon RCMP arrival, it was determined that the lone male occupant of the vehicle, a 53-year-old Calgary resident, was deceased,” police said.

Police said the RCMP collision reconstructionist assisted and the cause of the collision is under investigation.

“RCMP sends condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
