A movie starring Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson filmed mostly in southern Alberta last year has now been given a release date.
Directed by Lynne Ramsay and produced by the legendary Martin Scorsese, Die, My Love follows Lawrence as a mother struggling with postpartum depression in rural America.
Pattinson plays her husband as they both find the marriage entering an unsettling territory. The film is a psychological dark comedy-drama that also features Nick Nolte, Sissy Spacek and LaKeith Stanfield.
The film's production took cameras all over southern Alberta, including Calgary, Airdrie and Okotoks. The majority of the filming for the major motion picture was done in southern Alberta.
Fans spotted the stars in and around Calgary, the sightings making a buzz in the city during that time.
Production wrapped last October, and the movie premiered at last month's Cannes Film Festival.
At the festival, it was picked up by the global streaming platform Mubi for $24 million, making it the most expensive acquisition at the festival this year.
The movie is set to be released in theatres in November when Albertans can expect to see some familiar backdrops and landscapes on the big screen.
Those interested in the film can catch more information, including the trailer, on Mubi’s website here.
